No average Joe, Bruce Capps is one
of those self-reliant handymen behind a battery of instruments he has played himself
on this fetching pop outing. He does have some help: Chris Story bangs his drum
slowly, and Joan "Jones" Fraley joins in on a tandem vocals on "Something True,"
quite a catchy number. Joe falls in line with the sort of crafty confections and
the understated smarts of Jules Shear or Men at Work-- not bad company to keep.
One of the recent local albums that holds up just fine under repeated listenings.
